I am learning so many lessons during this time of caring for my mom, some I'd like to share with you, some I can probably never share.
The lesson I'm thinking about tonight, as I'm sitting in mom's living room, while she's sleeping on her couch, is one I don't want to forget. It is simply this, God is at work. I know this sounds pretty simple, but the verse I'm thinking of says, "Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it." Psalm 37:5 I like Young's translation, "Roll upon Jehovah thy way; trust upon him: and he worketh."
This is very instructive. First, we roll our burden on the Lord. So many places in the scripture encourage us in this direction. I have been rolling and rolling and rolling.
Second, we trust upon Him. I love that translation. He is after all trustworthy. He will never lie, never fail, never forsake... trustworthy! So we lean hard on Him. We trust upon Him! He can take it!
Then what? He works! I don't know what He'll do. I don't know how He'll do it! But this I know, He works!
I've seen it with my mom. When I am in the darkest of dark, or at my wit's end about something, and I roll it on Him, and lean on Him, He works! It has happened so many times in these last weeks, no wait, in my life! I don't want to forget.
I don't know what you are going through. But this is know:
"Roll upon Jehovah thy way; trust upon him: and he worketh."
